Bob Battalio Appointed to National Board

FORT MYERS, FL – Bob Battalio was appointed to the board of directors of the American Shore and Beach Preservation Association (ASBPA). He joins 36 other members of the association’s board, who share a broad range of coastal industry experience.

Battalio is also the California Shore & Beach Preservation Association (CSBPA) president, which is the California chapter of ASBPA.

Battalio is principal of Philip Williams & Associates Ltd., of San Francisco. For more than 20 years, he has led studies of coastal and estuarine processes, mapping of coastal hazards and designs restoration of natural aquatic ecosystems including beaches and coastal wetlands. Battalio provided coastal engineering and geomorphology for the Pacifica State Beach Restoration Project, winner of ASBPA’s America’s Best Restored Beaches Award in 2005. He holds a Masters of Engineering in civil (coastal) engineering from UC Berkeley.
